For the love of god, I could take my toothpaste and deodorant with me if they were in a plastic bag, but because they are not, I can't?

really? is this what someone sat around thinking about to keep us safe?

morons. and wasteful morons at that. I think the wasting of these products irritated me more than anything else.

but boy do i feel safe (...walking to the drug store to replace said items)

ok.. i know.. i know.. i keep posting random facts that i learned in school.. but i figure if i have to learn this crap.. others should too...
so.. yesterday we learned that every extra pound of fat gained adds miles of blood vessels.. all these extra blood vessels means that the heart has to pump that much harder... so what do we learn from this? fat = bad.. who knew?

most people know that during a heart attack the left arm might hurt - but did you know that that this is the reason we wear our wedding rings on the left hand? apparently the romans figured that if your left arm hurt during a heart attack, then your left arm must be connected to your heart - hence the wedding ring on the arm that is connected to your heart... the things i learn in nursing school..

.. and today we did.. a bunch of us went down to donate blood and get on the bone marrow donor list.. every one did such a good job.. and i'm proud of them all.. getting stuck with a needle isn't fun, but they all took it like champs.. thanks so much to everyone who came today.. it meant a lot to me..

at least until christmas..
school started last week.. and we've had nothing but orientation.. and somehow i'm still behind.. i found out this week that i have like 10 papers due in the next couple weeks.. including papers on how i felt about writing papers.. so.. if in the next couple months you call me, and i don't call you back.. or you email me and i don't respond.. it's not because i don't love you.. it's simply because i'm drowning in busy work, and don't have time to come up for air..

sunday we went up to the oc to visit my family... we had a great time hanging with the kiddo's.. afterwards we met up with our friends jen and dennis in irvine where they had a neil diamond cover band concert in a park... good times..

Our Trip to Washington iin Pictures

Now that we are home and have good bandwidth, i can post more pictures and a couple of movies from our trip to WA. Enjoy...

After breakfast we went for a hike down the river. the kids went swimmng. That water is so darn cold.

Once that fun was over, we went for a hike to a peak where we could see the mountain

Ok, now back at home. My niece Sophie finally started to like me this trip.
we went over to Daves house for a meal and bonfire. Dave is teaching Chara to swim

Later on we had a game night at Brandons house (I won...twice)Chara was helping Spencer master the game

On our way home from WA we stopped off in OR to visit Scott and Rebekah. We took a stroll around Eugene and it was beautiful
we fed the ducks. Chara's strategy was to thow all the bread and run.

Then we picked some blackberries. nothing better than fresh blackberries ripe in the summer sun.Then we introduced Scott and Rebekah to BJ's and brought home some Pazookies for desert while we watched I Heart Huckabees.
Well that was the trip. The next day we drove straight home to San Diego and we are happy to be sleeping in our own bed.
