what i've learned

six days in thailand and i have learned a couple things:

1. thai people don't use top sheets.. they use fitted sheets, but no top sheet.. we bought a 4 piece sheet set we assumed it came with a fitted and top sheet.. we were wrong.. it comes with a fitted sheet and three pillow cases.. no sheets for us..
2. sticky rice rocks
3. the ever patient ben has a limit.. it' after a 17 1/2 hour day.. don't talk to him.. he's going to bed..
4. thai people are really very nice..
5. if some one says they'll be there at 9am monday it means they'll be showing up around 6pm tuesday..
6. i am no longer afraid of flying... flying in an airplane is much safer than driving on the streets of thailand.. lines in the streets are just suggestions.. no one really pays attention to them.. there are no speed limits, and thai people drive around like crazy on little motorcycles with no helmets.. we see entire famililes (along with the family dog) sharing a motorcycle..
7. thai pancakes are my new favorite thing (aside from sticky rice).. we found them once, and have never found them since.. i cannot wait to find the pancake lady.. the pancake lady puts something that looks like green playdough in them.. on one hand i'd like to know what the green stuff is.. on the other.. knowing what it is might take the joy out of eating the pancake...
8. tropical island = very very hot
9. BYOT (bring your own toliet paper)
10. even thailand has a walmart.... here it's called tessco lotus.. (and we've been there twice)
