A wise man once said...

"Th-that that that don't kill me, Can only make me stronger (oh)"
-Kanye West: Stronger (lyrics)

Just got back from LA where i saw the premiere of Ultramarathon Man, the story of Dean Karnazes running 50 marathons in 50 days in al 50 states. Talk about inspiration. Hyper-inspirational is a more fitting description of this film. If you don't want to run out of the theater and immediately run a marathon the next day there is something wrong with you.

The film is a great triumph to show the human spirit and what it is capable of and Dean Karnazes is a man who's passion and determination is amazing to watch and is truly infectious to all aspects of life.

The film is not released yet, but if you ever get a chance to see it, i highly recommend it.

And i wanted to give a shout out to JB Benna the director. I met him a year ago at Sundance and not only did he capture this event wonderfully, he ran all of these races with a camera in hand. Often times he would have to sprint ahead to set up a shot, and then catch up to Dean to keep filming the race. Truly a work of passion in this film.

Ben...

Chara and i are going to running now...

WOW is all I can say to that...how can his body take it? My mom ran 3 marathons and 2 half marathons a year ago and her body is still having problems!

I'm too lazy to chase my dogs for 5minutes.

yeah the funny thing is that he runs much more than this so it wasn't a big deal for him.

they monitored his blood and body the whole time for science as well

after 50 they measure something and his levels were at 1/4 of what a normal persons is after running a single marathon.

the guy is a machine.

he usually runs 100+ miles to the start of a marathon and then starts the marathon with everyone else.

a little crazy, but very inspiring too

yeah, I'll say.
were the video shots all shaky?

Ben.. said...

not as shaky as you'd think.

it wasn't bad to watch it on the big screen at all.

it wasn't nearly as shaky as Cloverfield.

but it was good to be that close to the runners. you get to hear all their personal stories as they run.
